Narcissus

Sanctuary Oh sanctuary
hidden behind the eyes,
an empty pool of light
caught within a truth,
disembowelling hungry lies.

And he did bleed words
of hope and fear,
intoxicated by love of self
embracing his other,
within a reflection clear.

So sweet the kiss of another
Oh how the soul can roam,
but to love thy self
within a heart darkest,
one is sure to die alone.
