Somewhere Blue

Somewhere Blue
By AJ O’Brien.

Upon copper coated highways
that dance from here to there,
drove a man of substance
in search of something rare.

Beneath a sky of sorrows
that fell up and down,
he came upon, Somewhere Blue.
A strange little town.

The people were all broken
their houses the colour red,
and in every front garden
did lay, something dead.

The man of substance
looked at the sky of sorrows,
and knew within his heart
there would be, no more tomorrows.

  1. Hi Alan, such a thought provoking poem… so well written. How are you getting on? Hope all is well and you’ve had a wonderful time with your family over Easter. Indeed there is always hope for He is risen! 🌈 πŸ•Š Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated Alan. Keep well and best wishes.

      1. Word Press is odd that way…sometimes it just randomly “unfollows” blogs. But I’m glad you noticed and followed again! And thanks for all your support over the years…it means a lot to me!

  2. I am reminded of the parable of the rich man. “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. ..So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods’…But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ ” (Luke 12: 16, 18, 20).
