Unjust
Three Haikus
By AJ O’Brien.
Gallows sightless, black
fear has arrived, hope has fled.
Thirteen steps to climb.
Blind. A hood of silk,
slip knot caressing her neck.
Preparing to bite.
She is innocent,
a matter of self defence.
And the trapdoor fell.
You never fail to impress, friend!

Thank you dear Anna.
Sometimes the innocent are taken unjustly.
Is this not so?

Far too often. Far too often.

Three gorgeous and dark Haiku poems! The only thing more unjust in this world would be if you were to stop sharing your brilliant poetry… that sad place would feel like the gallows to me. š

Your potent words captured the moments leading to her death with precision and beauty. Hypnotic words that both thrilled and disturbed me. I hope to dream of her tonight!

Thank you so much Dead Donovan.
Your comment is an inspiration to me,
and very much appreciated.
For a dead guy, you’re up there
with Dracula. Or even the Mummy.
